doesn't surprise me, theres SEO contests out there just search on google 'SEOContest2009' and your get loads of results, the winner is the site which gets to the top of the search engines for 'SEOContest2009' keyword

I dont heard about this type of competition. But it would be very interesting to see the ways accepting to achieve this.
