Sure, graphics can certainly help us to visualize a particular situation or circumstance, product or service... But did you know that having a graphically-driven website can actually distract your visitor away from your sales message?
You've got approximately seven seconds from the time your visitor arrives at your site, to the time they decide whether to buy your product, get more information or leave. If you've got a graphically-intensive website, your website will most likely still be loading past your seven-second time limit.

I can see your point there, especially flash based websites. Lots of images tends to take longer time to load. I think we should only limit the images that we use on a site.

It is important that you have to optimize your graphics for faster loading. Proper placement should also be considered. It helps if you make your graphics' file name search engine friendly.

Yes very true and if it is the requirement then at least adhere with the dimension of the image,if you can put up a small size image then it is better.

It really depends on your site. For online games, definitely the quality of graphics should not be sacrificed.

I think this is the best way to do it. Larger images takes tome to load. And also choose the graphics format wisely.

Yeah. Game related websites do need to have lots of images to attract people.

With broadband almost accessible to everyone, the question of slow download for images is becoming a thing of the past. In relation to website flipping, the use of images and even animation can help upgrade the appraised value of your site.

There should be a balance between page loading speed and attracting people...

I have learned that visitors tends to wait only for a couple of seconds before they leave a site. Most of them will become bored in waiting if a site takes time to load.

especially those that are having large high quality pictures. The best way to solve that is by using thumbnails.

Thumbnails will be a good solution for fast page loading without sacrificing those pictures...

Less images...take less time to download and your customer or visitor will not loose interest so i think its good to have only few relevant graphics and images on a website.

Well the quantity of the website doesn't matter but the thing that matters is quality of the services that particular website is providing...so please ensure while making a website that it should be efficient and the number of images you have put on the website doesn't take much time to load so that the server work properly...
