Just be sure to use unique title tags, header tags, image tags, h1 tags, h2 tags, etc. for every page utilizing the keywords and phrases that you want to target.Include links to this page with the right anchor text from other pages in your website. Then work at getting deep links to this page with appropraite anchor text - mix the anchor text up a bit so Goolge doesn't dismiss all of the links as spam.

How about the case of a dynamic site? I am referring to a database driven web site which calls its content from your database server. How can you optimize the inner pages?

Of course one is use the mod rewrite function of your apache or web server to deliver a search engine friendly inner page. Other than that I think the SEO aspect should be incorporated in the script itself and the proper use of tags in your contents.

Yes seo is a good option but remember few things when you hire these professionals,If you don't know much about optimizing your site, or have never attempted optimization, then using an SEO consultant or firm is a good investment. An SEO will look over your site and suggest where it needs improvement so that webcrawlers can easily pick up on the keywords throughout your website. Another factor in search engine rank is the number and quality of backlinks you have from other websites, so avoid SEO's who plan to flagrantly link your website to other sites that have nothing to do with your niche (which is called link farming).

Proper use of tags in content is what matters infact. Effective use of keywords pays back in a real way.
